Global Maritime Distress And Safety Systems (GMDSS)

Description

This course is open to all persons in charge of or performing radio duties on a ship.

On successful completion of the course, candidates should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
Knowledge of the basic features of the Maritime Mobile Services and the Maritime Mobile Satellite Services;
Detailed practical knowledge and ability to use the basic equipment of the ship station;
Detailed practical knowledge and ability to use the GMDSS system and sub systems;
Miscellaneous skills and operational procedures for general communications.
