STC-SA strives to ensure international and local best practices are adhered to in all its business operations. Through this aspiration to excellence, STC-SA has endeavoured to apply for all local and international recognition. Currently it is accredited though TETA, The Authority in all transport related training and DNV, and internationally recognised certification body.

TETA

Transport Education Training Authority

STC-SA (Pty) Ltd. is an Accredited Training Provider with the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA). The Transport Sector has been demarcated into eight sub-sectors / industries and encompasses the Aerospace, Forwarding & Clearing, Freight Handling, Maritime, Rail, Road Freight, Road Passenger and Taxi Sub Sectors / Industries. With several thousand companies registered, it aims to develop and improve skills in the Transport Sector through the facilitation of a framework of learning through a Delivery System that enhances the level of skills in the Workplace and Transport Sector.

STC-SA (Pty) Ltd. will enhance its service delivery by reflecting on the strategic goals of the TETA i.e.:

  • The identification of skills shortages and training needs
  • The creation of an environment for growth and development of employees
  • The development and implementation of effective systems for quality assurance and recognition of learner achievement
  • To measure the effect of education, training and development on the productivity and profitability of the sector
  • The development and implementation of a Sector Skills Plan (SSP) for the Transport Sector Implementation; Approval of Workplace Skills Plans; Allocation of Levy Grants; and the Monitoring of ETD activities in the Transport Sector
  • Quality Assurance of ETD interventions

STC-SA’s accredited training programmes are offered throughout South Africa and leads to national certification recognised across industry.

Registered ISO 9001:2008 company

STC-SA is a registered ISO 9001:2008 company through DNV. This means that our Quality Management System (QMS) has been independently verified and found to be compliant with the international standards. This QMS governs all our operations and services.

DNV (Det Norske Veritas) is an independent foundation with the purpose of safeguarding life, property, and the environment. Its history goes back to 1864, when the foundation was established in Norway to inspect and evaluate the technical condition of Norwegian merchant vessels.

There core competence has been to identify, assess, and advise on how to manage risk. Whether they classify a ship, certify an automotive company’s management system, or advise on how to best maintain an aging oil platform, there focus is to safely and responsibly improve business performance.

While many of there services, such as management system certification and corporate responsibility, can be applied successfully in any industry, there main focus industries are:
